Trombone Shorty Foundation & Trombone Shorty Music Academy says
The Trombone Shorty Foundation is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual “Shorty Fest” presented by Presqu’ile Winery, a concert benefitting the foundation’s music education programs on April 30 at Generations Hall! The show will feature three stages of live music with a full headlining set from Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February, 17th with special “early bird” general admission pricing until March 1st.

Shorty Fest is loaded with remarkable talent again this year and offers a truly inspirational night-time Jazz Fest experience. A highlight is sure to be the “Hail To the Chief” set, featuring Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and four generations of Golden Eagles Mardi Gras Indians. Backing up Big Chief Monk will be a stellar ensemble comprised of renowned musicians that have performed with him over the years— Billy Kreutzmann (of Grateful Dead), June Yamagishi, Nick Daniels, Raymond Weber, Kirk Joseph, Davell Crawford, and Luther Dickinson (of the North Mississippi All-Stars). And some surprises are expected!

Also featuring sets from Tank & The Bangas, Corey Henry & The Treme Funktet, TYSSON, Sweet Crude, the New Breed Brass Band, and MainLine. Students from the Trombone Shorty Academy at Tulane University will perform with their instructors Edward Lee and Erion Williams from The Soul Rebels and Mainline Brass Band. The evening will also feature “VIP” tickets and a “Patron” party that includes a special set from New Orleans musical legend John Boutte and his band.

Tickets for Shorty Fest go on sale Mardi Gras Day—Tuesday, February 17th—at www.tromboneshortyfoundation.org
