Deanie's Seafood Restaurant in Bucktown will host the sixth-annual Pinch A Palooza Festival & Crawfish Eating Contest, a free street party celebrating Louisiana music and crawfish, on Sun. April 19 at Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant & Seafood Market in Bucktown, 1713 Lake Ave., Metairie! Pinch A Palooza will feature six bands and a full afternoon of activities.

This year Pinch A Palooza will take fest-goers back to traditional Southern and New Orleans roots with a lineup that includes Cajun fiddler and hometown sweetheart Amanda Shaw, Louisiana Music Hall of Famer Vince Vance and The Valiants, New Orleans Karma, Cajun Zydeco band Chansons et Soûlards, Jackson, Miss.-based bluegrass duo Bill & Temperance, plus performances by Mardi Gras Indians krewe Big Chief Romeo & the 9th Ward Hunters and the 610 Stompers.

Pinch A Palooza will feature games for kids, an art market, crawfish races, a crawfish eating contest with two heats of contestants, more than 2,500 pounds of boiled Louisiana crawfish and other Deanie’s crawfish specialities. New this year, Pinch A Palooza will host the culinary offerings of the NOCCA Institute’s The Boxcar food truck.
