Star Field I says
PARSE is proud to host “Star Field I”, A musical collaboration with the public.

“Star Field I” is a musical suite of 7 movements; each movement is a collaboration between a group from the public and an assigned New Orleans based composer.

The groups are drawn from various circumstances and stages of life, the youngest is a first grade class at Bricolage school, the oldest are members of a retirement home.

Each group decides upon a subject matter that is significant to them and discusses how they would express it musically. This discussion provides the source material for the composer designated to the group.

As the movements are played side by side, “Star Field I” allows us to examine shifts in our perspectives as we mature, whilst highlighting any recurring themes that may span through all ages.

The result of these collaborations will be performed by Giant Peach, an 8 piece, genre-crossing jazz orchestra. (For personnel, see below)

Visuals, created by local artists, Jacques Duffourc, Page Goss, Francis Wong, and filmographer, Ana Dunjic, are integrated into the performance of each musical movement.
