Making the event all the more special this year is the presentation of a Tanqueray No. TEN® Imperial Shaker by Jason Crawley to MOTAC's New Orleans collection.

Storied for its love of tradition and reverence for classic drinks, the Crescent City is home to an amazing group of creative bartenders who showcase their skills at establishments around town. Featuring 18 bartenders from across the region, "State of the Art" offers the connoisseur both classic cocktails and innovative drinks from local masters mixing and twisting the cocktail canon. Admission includes drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

Capping off "State of the Art," Tanqueray will donate the world’s coolest cocktail-making machine to MOTAC: the Tanqueray No. TEN Imperial Shaker by Jason Crawley. Recreated from a nineteenth-century line drawing under the meticulous guidance of spirits impresario Jason Crawley, the 6'-tall Imperial Shaker oozes authenticity, from its cast iron, brass, copper, and silver materials to the elliptical shake (versus a pedestrian up-and-down shake) created by the crank. Topped with four handsome shakers modeled after Tanqueray No. TEN bottles, the Imperial Shaker harkens back to the craftsmanship and engineering of an industrial era long past. The Imperial Shaker first appeared in the 88th Annual Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, and will now have a permanent home in The Museum of the America Cocktail’s New Orleans Collection at the Southern Food & Beverage Museum.
