The All Star Covered Dish Country Jamboree says
Folks we going to be Square Dancin and Honky Tonkin at the Jamboree this week! Bring a Dish to Share for the Pot-Luck and yer Dancin Shoes! Yes Indeed.
We start right off with the Square Dance. No experience necessary, just a willing heart and feet. Expert caller, Nathan Harrison, will guide you through the steps as our dance band, Ferd Moyse and his Musical Friend (Barnabus) backs up all the dances. Heck of a great time in store!
The Mid City Drifters are a classic country band based in New Orleans and fronted by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Ron Hotstream. Hotstream is a veteran of the New Orleans music scene and has also performed throughout the southeastern United States and Europe. The band plays a mix of vintage sounding originals and classic gems from the golden age of electric country music, with a special affinity for 1960s trucker country. They also play western swing, rockabilly, and a few twangy instrumentals. They have recently released their CD, Trucker Twang, recorded live in New Orleans, performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and also Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge.
Next up we have a lil lady from ol Miss, who recently relocated to New Orleans and brought her unique sound to share with us. We welcome Chelsea Lovitt & Boys to the Jamboree stage.
Chelsea Lovitt is a singer and a writer born and raised in south Mississippi, that inescapable linchpin for blues, grit and a sense of dark humor. After studying literature, Chelsea moved to Nashville to begin a career in songwriting. Since, she has lived in France, the UK, and New Orleans writing, playing and soaking in folk influence wherever she may find it.
See ya there, Shug!
