The two-week musical extravaganza that is New Orleans Jazz Fest provides fertile ground for musicians looking to pay tribute to their icons. With so many after hours and late night shows taking place over the course of the ten-day musical marathon, artists love to pay tribute to their favorite artists that influenced their lives and impacted their careers.

Last year, local heroes The Nth Power took the tribute concept to another level, inviting a huge mix of top-shelf special guests to One Eyed Jacks for a tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire, a project that was appropriately dubbed “Earth, Wind & Power.“ The show received rave reviews, as the band and special guests Oteil & Kofi Burbridge, Skerik, Jennifer Hartswick, Natalie Cressman, and James Casey tore up a bevy of classic hits and beloved deep cuts, performing each song with precision and perfection. “Earth, Wind & Power” is back at Jazz Fest this year, by popular demand.

Now, The Nth Power has announced their next great Jazz Fest tribute. After having shown off their impressive talent with “Earth, Wind & Power,” fans in New Orleans should be excited to learn about “WAKE UP & LIVE: The Music of Bob Marley.” The show, which once again will go down at One Eyed Jacks, will take place on Saturday, April 29th as a late night show. It will feature The Nth Power alongside special guests Cyril Neville, Raja Kassis of Antibalas, Skerik, Weedie Braimah, Shira Elias of Turkuaz, Rob Marscher of Jennifer Hartswick Band, Andrew “Da Phessah” Baham of Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Boyd from Phantom Vanity, and Adam Joseph. The special set will follow an earlier performance at One Eyed Jacks by Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe.
