Local surf rockers THE UNNATURALS will be performing at Gasa Gasa this Thursday with NATIONAL LAGARDE. Doors at 8pm.

The Unnaturals create a unique blend of surf, rockabilly, punk, metal and more with a party atmosphere that suits New Orleans well. Guitarist Kevin Bowles (We're Only In It For The Honey) is known for his technical song writing and penchant for tequila. Though he specializes in surf and metal many forms of music are represented in the songs including but not limited to classical structure and latin flavor. Bassist Jenn A (Split Lips) handles her Blackbird four string like a pro with quick moving scales and a busy rhythm that provides a solid foundation for the band. Her taste for Jameson whiskey is only matched by the writings of Hunter Thompson and frolicking panda bears. Drummer Bill Heintz (Dummy Dumpster) joined recently after years of being the band's number one spectator, printer and producer. His thunderous drumming has brought a new intensity that can only be compared to a guinea pig stampede. The Guinness flows heavy with this one and he can often be found scarfing a Bud's Broiler burger.

National Lagarde describes there music as rock n roll tales of the dark south. Vocalist/guitarist Terry Lagarde (Decatur Street Blackouts) uses his years of guitar experience to the band's advantage while complimenting the riffs with storytelling lyrics. Jennifer Kirtlan (Hazard County Girls) provides the low end in this local trio while drummer Stuart Smith pounds the skins.
