Rejoice, because the second season of Heartstopper is here to sprinkle its feel-good vibes, emotional honesty and open-hearted warmth on our home viewing. Based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novels and set at the fictional Truham Grammar School for Boys, season 2 picks up with ‘rugby king’ Nick (Kit Connor) and shy musician Charlie (Joe Locke) navigating their new relationship on a school trip to Paris and the Truham prom.
Also along for the ride are Charlie’s mates Tao (William Gao), Tara (Corinna Brown), a student at nearby Higgs Girls School, and her girlfriend Darcy (Kizzy Edgell); their pal Isaac (Tobie Donovan), and trans Higgs student Elle (Yasmin Finney). Sebastian Croft’s Ben Hope, Charlie's bitter, closeted first boyfriend, is back too to throw a few classroom curveballs.

Heartstopper filming locations in Paris
You want romance? Paris is where to head, of course. Which is exactly what Heartstopper season 2 does in three of its eight episodes. On the itinerary are all the classic Instagram-ready spots – the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre and Arc de Triomphe – and some deeper cuts, including Shakespeare and Co. book shop, Pont des Arts, and Montmartre’s L'Escalier restaurant.
Sacré Coeur de Montmartre provides a historic backdrop for two key scenes: Charlie and Tara have a deep and meaningful about Charlie’s relationship with Nick and Tara’s with Darcy on the basilica’s steps, before Charlie and Nick have a waffle cone together on those iconic steps.
Nick introduces Charlie to his distant dad Stéphane (Call My Agent’s Thibault de Montalembert) over coffees by the Seine. Episode six, meanwhile, takes the pair to Le Marais district, a hip and LGBTQ+-friendly corner of the city full of boutiques, restaurants and bars, for a stroll that inspires them to hold hands in public.
Where is Heartstopper S2 filmed in the UK?
Kent’s Herne Bay High School again stands in for Truham Grammar School’s interiors, while E-Act Burnham Park Academy in Buckinghamshire was used for the school’s exteriors. Twickenham Studios, past home to Black Mirror and McMafia, was also used.
