When it comes to getting to grips with the biggest trends in global travel, you’d like to think that the boffins over at rental platform Airbnb have a pretty good idea of what’s what. When Airbnb reveals its travel trends, it’s usually worth paying ‘em a bit of attention.
The company recently revealed its biggest trends for spring 2023, announcing where and how people are travelling at the mo. Airbnb’s study only looked at US customers and (obvs) its own company data, but here’s what it came out with.
First up, apparently couples getaways are back in a big way. Especially when it comes to getting away to European cities, romantic breaks are very in at the mo.
Aside from that, Airbnb has seen bookings across a pretty wide range of holiday types. While historic cities are currently hot, so are small beach towns and adventure destinations.
Airbnb also revealed its top trending destinations for spring 2023. Here they are, in no particular order.

- Seoul, South Korea
- London, United Kingdom
- Porto, Portugal
- Barcelona, Spain
- Dublin, Ireland
- Whistler, Canada
- Madrid, Spain
- Lisbon, Portugal
- Paris, France
