Cult photographs from an iconic period in time.

One of the most important American photographers of the 20th century, Walker Evans is a not-to-be-missed exhibition of 2017. From pictures of America in the 1930s crisis to his projects published in Fortune during the 1940s and 50s which came to influence generations of photographers and artists.

His documentary style, attention to detail in the everday, to urban rituals, Walker Evans has eloquently portrayed the contemporary culture of his native country. Never has there been a better moment to enjoy this broad range of now-cult pictures at Centre Pompidou.
