At less than a five-minute walk from Terminal 3, this Charles de Gaulle branch of citizenM is unlikely to suit a long-haul stay, but for a night or two it can provide everything you need. Pegged as a ‘home away from home’, the lobby is sectioned up into ‘living’ spaces – TV/sofas, dining tables, computers/desks – and decked out with plush furnishings, unique artwork and sprawling bookcases.
In contrast to this vast space, the rooms are minimal and compact with the bare essentials. The supersized beds stretch from wall-to-wall beneath windows that look out over the runways and airport buildings. Each room has a rainfall shower and a tablet to control the lighting, TV, music and window blinds. There aren’t facilities to make a brew in your room, but there is a 24-hour café/bar, as well as 24/7 self-check-in, so no matter when your plane gets in or is set to depart, you can make yourself at home at citizenM.
Neighbourhood: Given that Roissy-en-France is largely taken up by the airport, there’s little wiggle room when it comes to things to do. Charles de Gaulle has numerous boutiques, eateries and stores where you can get the essentials, but venturing outside will lead you to Aéroville, a huge shopping mall with a food court and cinema. Or if you’re willing to venture further afield, the RER B will have you in the centre of Paris in half an hour.
