A second detox kitchen from Angèle Ferreux-Maeght, in the 11th.
After her miniscule takeaway on rue Coquillère in the 1st, superfood guru and gluten-free queen Angèle Ferreux-Maeght’s has put down roots in the trendy 11th arrondissement. And this time, the effervescent blonde and her kale chips have gone for an altogether more countrified vibe. With pots of hyacinths, sprigs of lavender, a few garden tables and folding chairs, it could almost be Marie Antoinette’s garden. Today’s dish (the menu changes daily) is a well-balanced lunch box of rice, herb pesto, smoked tofu, turmeric humous, roasted ras-el-hanout carrots and toasted nuts. It’s generous, delicately put together and prompts a fun game of ‘guess the vegetable’. And above all it’s downright satisfying – you won’t be reaching for the cookie jar an hour after finishing this delight.
With spring on the horizon, we can picture it already: a spot of sun on the terrace, carrot, ginger and apple juice in hand and a slice of delicious matcha-iced carrot cake in the other. And if ever the restaurant is full, get lunch to takeaway and sit in the adorable square Gardette, just a few metres away.
