Modern Italian leather accessories label Almare Toscana has already brought a slice of the dolce vita to cities like Shanghai, London and Vancouver, so Paris is a natural next move. Founded in 2013 by David-Alexandre Détilleux, the 100 percent made-in-Italy brand has set up shop in the third arrondissement, selling rucksacks, handbags, briefcases and other accessories mostly made from a mix of Santa Croce leather and stone-washed cotton (many also come ‘reinforced’ with waterproof Teflon). All pieces are available in a variety of Mediterranean shades including ochre, aqua green, rust, light blue and several Tuscan oranges. Everything is understated and yet stylish, but prices are steep: think €200-€400 for a bag, €90 for a wash bag, €175 for an iPad case and €55-€75 for a card holder.
