A true taste of America in Paris.
Slap bang in the middle of the Marais, on rue Saint-Paul, the spirit of Uncle Sam is alive and well. Expect to leave your diet at the door – instead, satisfy your cravings and fill your basket to the brim with goods directly imported from the US. The star of the show here is, of course, the turkey – plus everything needed to prepare it: spices, syrups and the vital meat thermometer (€6.95).
Alongside that, a rainbow of all the classic treats from our friends across the pond: Warhol’s beloved Campbell’s soup (€3.80), peanut butter, Kraft Mac n’ Cheese, pancakes, muffins, dried cranberries, maple syrup, cajun spices and even Froot Loops cereal (€2.90). Not only is this an American food fest, but there’s booze and bottles of soda too; to be guzzled from the infamous red cups – which, let’s face it, are a hangover waiting to happen compared to our tiny white beakers.
Thanksgiving has everything you could ever want for a bona fide all-American extravaganza - now all you need is a star-spangled banner.
