Acoustic Evening With Bay Station And More says
8pm: TBA

9:20pm: Born of a songwriting challenge, Bay Station finds California-based songwriter/musicians Kwame Copeland (KC) and Deborah Crooks (DC) combining their talents and enlisting the help of several musical compadres to create a diverse form of Americana and rock music. Drawing on their literary chops and post-punk and twang tendencies, they released Your Own Reaction (under their former name, KCDC), a 10-song collection of Americana and rock, in 2014. Their follow-up recording, Go Out and Make Some (to be released March 2016) is a true melting pot of Americana, blues, jazz and rock and roll songs about love, lust, sandy beaches, dusty roads, wandering holy men, wolf birds and more. Bay Area songwriter Deborah Crooks' lyric driven and soul-wise music draws on folk, rock, Americana and the blues and is often compared to Lucinda Williams and The Cowboy Junkies. Wyoming-born-and-raised songwriter/guitarist Kwame Copeland was reared on folk and steeped in Dylan before heading out to California to forge his own brand of Americana. Together, their sound nods to such influences as The Pretenders, Calexico and Alejandro Escovedo, while being uniquely their own. Kwame says Deborah's songs "are burning sparks thrown skyward from a hot, dark fire of old guitars and broken hearts." There you have it.
