"All I Really Want To Do Is..." Premiere says
“all i really want to do is...” is a new group piece by Jordan Daniels Dance that uses funk and soul music by artists like Sam Cook to abstract the circular motion of trends in popular art. Rather than demonstrating the funk era on stage theatrically, ideas are physically abstracted through the lens of a minimally exposed researcher born in the 20th century, creating art in the 21st. The work finds connections between the past and the contemporary through the social and cultural lens of a millennial creator in Phoenix, Arizona.

JordanDanielsDance is part of [nueBOX]’s first round of Artists-In-Residence. During their residency, the company was provided with rehearsal time, constructive feedback, and the ability to experiment with new equipment. The Premiere of “all i really want to do is...” is a final showing of a continuously evolving work-in-progress. For more information about Jordan Daniels Dance and their residency at [nueBOX] visit www.nuebox.org/JordanDanielsDance.

This evening will also feature a new work by Liliana Gomez.
