Echo Sketches: Make It! says
Make It! is a monthly drop-in, family-friendly, hands on art-making activity for all featuring collaborations with different local artists to create activities that introduce participants to new materials, perspectives and ways of connecting. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Make It! is free, no registration required, and is part of #PhxArtFamily and #FreeAfterThree (each Wednesday, general admission is free from 3pm-9pm).

This month, experiment with a skecho tool to create echo sketches with teaching artist Nick Rascona. When creating a sketch, the age old tool we use is a pencil - drawing lines and slowly filling the page. A skecho provides a slight tweak from a typical drawing pencil, but it has a significant effect on mark-making qualities and capabilities. Observe inside and outside spaces of the Museum and objects that catch your eye. Use the skecho to define space, create movement and bring your drawing to life.

Artist Bio: Nick Rascona is an Arizona based artist who graduated from ASU with degrees in painting and psychology. Painter, sculptor, and muralist; Nick is dedicated to creating artworks and conversations. His current works are inspired by human nature and our relationship with the natural world. He curates at New City Studio Art Gallery.
