Join us to watch "The Garden," an Academy Award winning documentary about the fight to save a community garden in South Los Angeles. Movie runs 80 minutes and a 30 minute panel discussion will follow.

The film is an engaging and powerful look at the famous political and social battle over the largest community garden in the U.S. It shows how the politics of power and greed (backroom deals, land developing, green politics, money) tragically intersect with working class families who rely on this communal garden for their livelihood.

---

The Envisioning Phoenix Film Series started in 2014 and is a way to gather the Phoenix community to spark a discussion about the future of our city. We showcase a film on a different topic relative to urban lifestyle, planning, or infrastructure. In addition to the movie, an expert panel will share their thoughts on the film and how we can find reflections within Phoenix. An audience discussion will follow.
