“Hersch’s work has developed an intensity of intelligence and emotional directness unparalleled among his peers.”—New Yorker

“The lyric beauty of (Cohen’s) tone, easy fluidity of her technique and extroverted manner of her delivery make this music accessible to all.”—Chicago Tribune

Declared by Vanity Fair to be “the most arrestingly innovative pianist in jazz over the last decade,” Fred Hersch balances his internationally recognized instrumental and composing skills with significant achievements as a bandleader, collaborator, and solo artist. He has over three dozen studio recordings to his credit, including eight GRAMMY Award nominations. Hersch is among the most admired of contemporary jazz musicians, having collaborated with an astonishing range of instrumentalists and vocalists throughout the worlds of jazz (Joe Henderson, Charlie Haden, Art Farmer, Stan Getz, and Bill Frisell); classical (Renée Fleming, Dawn Upshaw, Christopher O’Riley); and Broadway (Audra McDonald) music.

Israeli-born clarinetist and saxophonist Anat Cohen has been the winner of nine consecutive Jazz Journalists Association awards for Clarinetist of the Year. An established bandleader and prolific composer, Cohen creates music that uniquely blends modern and traditional jazz, classical music, Brazilian choro, Argentine tango, and an expansive array of Afro-Cuban styles. She has toured the world with her quartet, headlining at the Newport (Rhode Island), San Francisco (California), Umbria (Italy), and North Sea (Netherlands) Jazz Festivals as well as at such hallowed clubs as the Village Vanguard and Columbia University’s prestigious Miller Theatre, both in New York City.
