Haru In The Garden A Festival Welcoming Spring

The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix welcomes you to embrace the season of spring as you experience this wonderful cultural event in the beauty of a Japanese garden. “Haru in the Garden” is our largest event of the year; it is colorful, cultural, artistic, and inspiring. Come stroll in the garden with us as we celebrate the sights and sounds of spring. The garden will be beautifully lit to enhance the unique and inspiring performances of music, percussion and dance along with an exquisite display of art within the surroundings of the Japanese garden. Performances will include Japanese bamboo flute, fire dancers, Tibetan Bowls, ensemble groups, to Flamenco dancing. A Percussion Ensemble will be featured at this year’s spring event. This group will be spread throughout the garden performing a synchronized piece providing a surround sound musical experience. The performance is scheduled for 6:00 PM. Art displays will feature photography, silk, masks, sculpture, abstract paint, multimedia display and pottery. A Kimono and Hina doll display will also be featured in the garden along with traditional spring themed tea ceremony demonstrations. Sake, beer and wine bar will be provided along with a variety of Asian food via food trucks for your enjoyment at this event.
