Fiddler's Dream Coffeehouse says
8pm – High Strung is a local group of Phoenix musicians who have been performing for audiences for over seven years. They combine hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, guitar, banjo and voice to bring alive old time songs from the Appalachian Mountains as well as a selection of contemporary folk tunes from the revival movement of folk music from the 60’s and 70’s. Their intricate arrangements and lively performances have been enjoyed by festival goers at folk music gatherings from Flagstaff to Tucson and everywhere in between.

Come and enjoy a fun evening of old time mountain music with High Strung. You’ll feel like you’ve gone back in time to the days when folks gathered on front porches to play and sing together. High Strung band members are Steve Kenny, Debbie Kenny, Keith Allen and Lisa Armitage.

9:20pm – Eric Ramsey has been active in the Valley music scene for many years, performing solo or as part of any number of bands. He is a founding member of the seminal Alt-Folk-Swamp-Country-Rock-Southern-Blues-Boogie Band Spiny Norman. Other incarnations equally esoteric were High Falls and the eclectic not:quite:norman.

With soaring vocals and organic arrangements, Eric's original compositions reflect his musical influences, but live in a place where all his resources play well together. Cover material drawn from such wide-ranging stylists as Bruce Cockburn, Jackson Browne, Ry Cooder, David Lindley, Taj Mahal, Joni Mitchell, John Hiatt, Lowell George, Jerry Garcia, Lyle Lovett and Townes Van Zandt are never bound by their original sources.

Currently he's appearing in a few iterations - as a Solo Acoustic artist, with Scatfish - a blues, roots-rock and americana trio, and most recently with the newly minted Mojo Bros - formed with fellow Deadhead and master chef Stuart Epstein.

Most recently Eric has been selected a Finalist in the Tucson Folk Festival Songwriting Contest, and has been tapped for the prestigious Songwriter's Showcase produced by Tempe Center For The Arts, to be filmed for PBS distribution.

With an extensive and varied songlist covering country, rock, americana, folk and blues, along with his original compositions, Eric is comfortable in any musical environment that doesn't involve a chickenwire cage.

Doors at 7:15pm, music at 8pm. $8.
