Join us for a 6-week "Mindfulness Fundamentals" course, in-person, in Cave Creek, taught by Jyoti Weaver.

Learning mindfulness skills can help relieve stress for teens and adults. Learn simple techniques that nurture your own abilities to be in the present moment with strength. These lifelong skills will help bring a sense of calm to your life and your home. These lessons mirror the mindfulness techniques taught in the schools.

Held at: CCUSD District Office Campus, Room 27 (enter through ECS office):

Dates: 9/16-10/21

Times: Wednesdays, choose from 10-11am or 6-7pm

Your instructor: Jyoti Weaver

Jyoti Weaver has extensive experience in yoga instruction and healthcare administration and marketing and fund-raising. Born in Lusaka, Zambia, she received her bachelor’s of science in Therapeutic Recreation from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Yoga Instructor and has twice completed Mindfullness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program training. As an activity and recreational director in skilled nursing facilities and retirement facilities, she planned, programmed, organized and conducted adaptive recreational activities for seniors; recruited, trained and supervised volunteers; managed and supervised activity staff; and produced an award-winning monthly newsletter for a Scottsdale facility. While an admissions and marketing director, she marketed long-term-care facilities, and as a regional marketing director, she oversaw multiple long-term-care facilities in Arizona for marketing, admissions and census development. She has taught yoga to children in schools as well as seniors in a retirement facility and continues to teach yoga, including Vinyasa Flow. Jyoti has also fund-raised for two organizations of which she has been president: Scottsdale Health Council and Human Services Professionals.
