May Radiate Phx says
A city’s history and stories are the building blocks to its future, and this month we’ll hear from a few Phoenicians dedicated to preserving our past while building towards a better future for Downtown.

Join us on Tuesday, May 19 as we celebrate national Historic Preservation Month at one of downtown's historic gems: the Maricopa County Security Building.

Experience the renovated 8th floor ballroom and rooftop patio of this 1928 building, which was once the tallest in Arizona. Plus, we'll learn about historic design and architecture in Phoenix get updates on a highly anticipated adaptive reuse project — the Professional Building — and network over complimentary small bites and bar.

Tom Manos, Maricopa County, owner of 1928 Security Building

Michelle Dodds, City of Phoenix Historic Preservation Office

Nick Wood, Snell & Wilmer, representing developer of 1931 Professional Building

The building is located directly next to Central Station and is accessible by light rail, bus and bike. There is parking available in the ACE parking garage at 21 W. Van Buren Street (southeast corner of Van Buren and First Avenue). It is $3 per hour with a max of $12 to park in that garage. We will not be validating.

Complimentary wine and local craft beer provided by The Phoenix Ale Brewery, in addition to delicious bites from Welcome Chicken + Donuts.

Presented by Downtown Phoenix Inc., in partnership with the Downtown Phoenix Journal and Phoenix Community Alliance — RadiatePHX brings great minds together every third Tuesday of the month at various unique downtown locations that inspire conversations on topics important to Downtown.
