Time Out says

DadSocks is a Tempe, AZ-based stencil artist. Bill Taggart whose work is highly influenced by street art, hip hop culture and social justice. A New Jersey native, Bill was first introduced to art during his boyhood travels across the Northeast and discovered stencil art more than a decade ago while watching some street artists stenciling against a South Manhattan building. Bill’s stencil method involves layering different shades of spray paint with hand cut or laser cut stencils. His work often takes anywhere from 15 to 100 hours to complete from concept to canvas. Stints studying at a university in the South and doing non-profit work in the Middle East opened his eyes to art’s power to communicate. Everything from a nature-focused sabbatical in Central America to his regular voyages to downtown Phoenix present thoughts that he hopes to illustrate in his work and challenge the viewer. “Depose” Pop Culture and the Fashion industry have captivated our attention. We are bombarded with images, video, gossip, and calls to purchase the latest trends. Our attention to pop culture is driven by admiration turned obsession with the celebrity. As a culture, we have elevated the importance of these human beings to the level of Saint Hood and idolize the image fed to us by their public relations teams. Our generation’s focus has been distracted and misguided from what is truly important to be paying attention to in this world. Let’s strip down the image and impression we have of these Pop Icons and Depose their position in our hearts and minds. Music by Fernando Ramos and Miguel Rocka
