Poetry Reading: Marilyn Hacker

Phoenix Art Museum says
Poet Marilyn Hacker’s newest work, A Stranger’s Mirror: New and Selected Poems, celebrates the most recent twenty of a remarkable forty-year literary career. Hacker’s poetry is feminist, erotic, and politically acute. She explores cultural boundaries to overcome them.

The local opener for this reading will be Deborah Berman-Montaño. She has featured her work in the Phoenix poetry and art scene since the late 1990s. In 2012, she founded Balboa Poet House, a salon-style poetry reading and independent press with her husband, and together they partner in a poetry workshop with students from her alma mater, Arizona State University.

This event is free and open to the public as part of our #freeadmissionwednesday.
