Thunderbird School of Global Management says
The Thunderbird Global Speaker Series is proud to invite Mr. Jon Kailey '76, Director, International Business Development (Ret.), Owens Corning Building Materials and Mr. Howard Strong '80, National Oilwell Varco (Ret.) to discuss global corruption cases and the impact they have had on companies involved.
While Jon was in Mexico, Walmart was discovered to have paid over $25 million in "expediting payments" to accelerate approval for building sites for their stores. The financial cost to the corporation when this became public was in the billions of dollars in addition to damaging their reputation.
Howard will share the importance of compliance by all global employees and how this can directly impact the company and the employees' careers.
This presentation is free and open to the public. Parking is complimentary (please do not pay at the meters as refunds cannot be given.) Light beverages will be offered.
