Just over a three-hour drive from the Grand Canyon National Park, Phoenix is a fantastic city situated in a valley of the desert with mountains as its backdrop. It’s sunny here most of the year round and is the fifth-largest metropolis in the US, making it a super popular vacation destination. In fact, rumor has it that Phoenix gets more sunshine than any other city on Earth—don’t hold us to it though. As for Airbnbs, you’re truly spoiled for choice. From Flintstone-inspired houses to vintage Airstreams, there’s something for every kind of getaway. These are the best Airbnbs in Phoenix.

Updated August 2026: We’ve given this list a much-needed revamp, this time with a spotlight on this mid-century modern retreat with a bocce court, and this poolside Coronado bungalow.

Which neighborhood is best to stay in Phoenix?

It depends on what kind of trip you’re planning. Arcadia is a great pick for upscale restaurants, leafy streets and stylish homes, while Roosevelt Row and Downtown Phoenix are your best bet for art, nightlife and a more walkable city break. Staying near Camelback Mountain puts you close to some of the area’s best hiking, as well as luxury resorts and desert views. For historic charm and bigger, family-friendly homes, look to Uptown and Encanto.

Do I need an Airbnb with a pool when visiting Phoenix?

Honestly, we’d say yes, especially if you’re visiting between May and October, when daytime temperatures can regularly climb above 100°F (38°C). A private pool is one of the best ways to cool off after a day of exploring. If you’re visiting in the cooler winter months, look for Airbnbs with heated pools or spas. Many of the more luxurious stays around Arcadia and Paradise Valley offer pool heating, although this can come at an extra cost.

Do you need a car when visiting Phoenix?

Probably. Phoenix is huge and its attractions are spread across the metro area, so having a car makes life considerably easier. You can get by without one if you’re staying around Downtown Phoenix or Roosevelt Row, where the Valley Metro Rail and walkable streets can get you around. But if you want to hike, explore Scottsdale, visit Spring Training stadiums or venture further into the desert, renting a car is your best bet.

When is the most expensive time to book an Airbnb in Phoenix

January-April is generally Phoenix’s peak season, thanks to reliably gorgeous winter weather, Spring Training and major events including the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Demandparticularly for large homes with poolscan be seriously high, so if you’re planning a group trip during these months, it’s worth booking six to nine months ahead. Outside peak season, you’ll generally have more choice, particularly if you’re flexible with dates.
