Burning Man tickets are about to go on sale

Leave it to Burning Man to have the most complex ticketing system we've ever seen. But for those who wish to make the dusty trek to The Playa, Wednesday, March 9th in an important ticket release day, as this is when "Directed Group Sale" tickets go on sale.

These 25,000 invitation-only tickets are made available to recurring legacy theme camps, and cost $390. This sounds a bit exclusive, considering the aggressively community-minded source, but there's a method to the madness.

According to the Burning Men, they target "specific collaborative groups within the community for participation in the Directed Group Sale. This is to ensure that critical theme camp, art installation, mutant vehicle crews and other core Black Rock City infrastructure providers gain access to tickets. This program does not have an application process."

Basically, Wednesday is when the tickets go on sale for the long-term, die-hard Burners. It's a BIG DEAL. These folks have been waiting for Wednesday morning ever since they recovered from Burning Man 2015. Without an invite to purchase a Directed Group ticket, those who wish to party on the Playa can buy their Main Sale tickets, also $390, on March 23. (Don't worry, we'll remind you.)

All folks who want in on Burning Man tickets need to pre-register a Burner Profile. For the rest of you, here's a silly (?) idea on how to keep all those burners from ever coming back to San Francisco.
