The creators of some of San Francisco's most popular dining and drinking destinations have just announced their newest venture. Petite Marlowe is the "Mini Me" of SoMa's popular Marlowe, whose husband and wife owners James Nicholas and Anna Weinberg also run Park Tavern, The Cavalier, Leo's Oyster Bar, and Marianne's through their Big Night Restaurant Group. If the couple's track record is any indication, Petite Marlowe is well on its way to glowing reviews and wait lists.

Just around the corner from (Grande) Marlowe, the 50-seat Petite Marlowe will be inspired by the charming bistros of France. “It’s going to be a gorgeous French wine bar menu, plus raw bar because it went so well at Leo’s,” Weinberg told Eater. “It’s going to be adorable. We went to the Paris Flea Market with Ken Fulk and bought all the furniture there, back bar chairs and everything.”

Fulk is the creative design genius behind several notable San Francisco spots, including the swanky club, The Battery

The new wine and oyster spot will take over the small space currently occupied by Les Clos at 234 Townsend. Les Close is set to close in January and it's owner, Mark Bright plans to stay on as wine director. Chef Jennifer Puccio will helm the kitchen as she has at previous Big Night properties, and Emily Lucchetti will bring her dessert expertise to the pastry menu. Weinberg, Nicholas and their team hope to open Petite Marlow in March of 2017. We hope to score a table at the Carrera marble bar soon thereafter.
