After last year’s disappointing showing at the annual James Beard Foundation Awards (San Francisco didn’t take home a single win in 2016), the Bay Area is back on the winner’s podium with two new accolades this spring.
Winners were revealed Monday evening at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Chef Corey Lee of Benu beat out chef Dominique Crenn to be awarded Best Chef in the West and design firm AvroKO was awarded a best restaurant design award for their work on Single Thread in Healdsburg. Now if only we could get a reservation at either spot.
