It is a scientific fact that everyone looks more attractive holding a dog—or cat, or... uh, rabbit.... Whether you're a pet-owner or you're about to date someone who is (or even better, both), we've got some terrific pet-friendly date ideas around San Francisco for you, your friend and your furry friend(s).

Crissy Field: With sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay and pristinely maintained walking paths, Crissy Field is a perfect spot for a romantic walk with or without pets (or dates, for that matter). The charming beach is an off-leash area, and is home to a doggie water fountain and special washing area.

El Rio: The heated patio of the always festive El Rio is very dog-friendly. Sunday's Hard French afternoon dance parties are the perfect spot to meet up and introduce the pups to your new partner.

Baker Beach: Rain, shine or Karl the Fog, Baker Beach is simply gorgeous. Pack a picnic (including a big ol' bone for Fido) and take advantage of one of San Francisco's most cinematic settings for your very own rom-com.

Zazie: Cole Valley's popular brunch spot serves up delicious Benedicts—and dog bowls. That's right, Zazie is pet-friendly and allows pups at one of their four outdoor tables. Get there early to snag it!

Park Chalet: The grassy backyard of the Park Chalet is an ideal spot to meet up for a laid-back date. Pets are enthusiastically welcomed and patrons can often find live music, BBQ and a festive atmosphere on sunny weekends. If the date is going well, prolong the fun by heading across the Great Highway for a walk on Ocean Beach.

Duboce Park: This fun dog park and play area on the sunny side of town is one of SF's most beloved places for pets. The park offers a large off-leash area and a number of cozy benches for dating dog-owners. Grab a snack or drink nearby at the pet-friendly Duboce Park Cafe or Cafe Flore. Should love blossom, come back and celebrate in April at Duboce Park's annual DogFest.

Bin 38: Leave it to San Francisco to have a dog-friendly wine bar. Enjoy an extensive wine list, beer menu and selection of small plates in the cute backyard of this Cow Hollow spot that welcomes both pups and paramours.
