One of the greatest names in jazz performs solo.
Dee Dee Bridgewater, arguably one of the best female jazz vocalists in the world will be performing here in Seoul on April 9th. Often named with greats like Diana Krall, Cassandra Wilson and Dianne Reeves, she is one of the most famous names in modern jazz. Taking inspiration from legends before her, such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, she has a superb sense of rhythm that allows her to freely play with her melodies. While categorized as a jazz singer, she doesn't limit herself to the genre and sings pop, R&B and more. In terms of her career, she has worked in TV, radio, movies and musicals (and snagged a Tony Award). She has already performed for audiences in Korea at the Jarasum International Jazz Festival in 2009, 2012 and 2014, but this will be her first solo concert in 13 years. For her upcoming concert, she will perform a wide repertoire of songs with her five-member band as backup. by Rphabet
