Ah, the infamous flower festival of the city. If you’ve been living in Seoul for the past few years, you know how heavily this event gets promoted. Reasons in favor of going to the festival? It is legit beautiful. Awash in soft pinks and whites, the 1,641 cherry blossom trees that line the streets brighten up the busy business district. Come after the sun sets and the lit-up flowers are exceptionally lovely against the darkness of the night sky. Roads are blocked off for the festival and various cultural events, including performances, art exhibits, a parade and even a live open mic stage where anyone is welcome to show off their singing skills, are held on the street. But fair warning, know that you and half of Seoul will be there. (And the lines for the bathroom? Legit not beautiful).
