Ada Wage Dawasaka (Antigone)

Ada wage Dawasaka Antigone is a translation of Sophocles’ Greek tragedy. The play was translated by writer cum poet – Ariyawansa Ranaweera and is directed by Priyankara Rathnayake. The story portrays the struggles of Antigone, who fights to bury her brother – Polynices, who was defeated and killed by his own brother – Eteocles in a battle. Eteocles, traitor to Thebes forbids her to mourn over the death of his own brother and this making her the reason to battle with his own brother.
