Best rooftop bars in Stockholm

1. Le Hibou

  • 5 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

What is it? Bank Hotel’s award-winning rooftop bar on Blasieholmen, with one of Stockholm’s most celebrated cocktail menus.

Why we love it? It’s almost enough to say that Le Hibou has won Best Cocktail Bar at the Bartenders' Choice Awards – one of the Nordics’ most prestigious accolades in the bar world – two years in a row (2025 and 2026). And when you sit at the top of Bank Hotel with a drink in hand, gazing out over Strandvägen and the waters of Nybroviken, you understand why.

Le Hibou is the rooftop bar for cocktail heads who like their drinks with class, set against an elegant backdrop that brings to mind a luxurious Parisian apartment. Without ever feeling pretentious. ‘Perspectives’ is the name of Le Hibou’s award-winning drinks menu, featuring fourteen cocktails where each chapter spotlights a single ingredient, interpreted in two different ways. Start the evening with the rich tequila-based Time Out favourite Juicy Grapefruit and end it with Boozy Fig, a spirit-forward, fig-infused twist on the classic Manhattan.

Time Out tip: As at any top cocktail bar, don’t be afraid to let the staff guide you. They know their drinks and flavours.

Arsenalsgatan 6, Blasieholmen. Sunday–Tuesday: 16–23, Wednesday–Friday 16–01, Saturday 14–01. Expect to pay around 195 kronor for a cocktail. Walk-ins only.

2. Takpark by Urban Deli

What is it? Possibly Stockholm’s most down-to-earth rooftop bar – a green urban park on the ninth floor right on Sveavägen.

Why we love it? Takpark was ahead of the curve. Back in 2015, Urban Deli opened its rooftop space and set the standard for what a Stockholm rooftop bar could be – not a stiff hotel terrace but something that actually felt like a city park, high above the pavements of Sveavägen. With wooden walkways, greenery and 360-degree views of the city, Takpark quickly became a modern rooftop classic in Stockholm.

And guess what? 11 years later, it still holds up – though not primarily for its drinks craft; for instance, there’s only canned beer, not draft. Takpark’s main USP is still the vibe. That relaxed feeling of hanging out on a rooftop in the middle of the city, drink in hand and all of Stockholm beneath your feet. Beer, wine and simple cocktails are served at the outdoor bar, and the glasshouse offers shelter if you’ve been careless with the sunscreen. Evenings are often soundtracked by DJs or live music. But more often than not, the view is more than enough. And the atmosphere.

Time Out tip: Get there early. On a sunny weekend day, Takpark fills up fast.

Sveavägen 44. Monday–Wednesday: 16–20, Thursday–Saturday: 14–20, Sunday: closed. Expect to pay around 165 kronor for a drink and 85 kronor for a (canned) beer. Walk-ins only.

3. Himlen

What is it? Södermalm’s highest bar, 86 metres up in the iconic 1950s building Skrapan on Götgatan – and one of Stockholm’s oldest rooftop bars.

Why we love it? Himlen opened in 2007 and has long been a staple on Stockholm’s rooftop bar map. In autumn 2024, the sky bar was relaunched with new interiors, a warmer feel and a clear focus on classic Swedish food and bold cocktails – try the extensive Gin & Tonic selection or the writer’s favourite, a Gin Fizz with strawberry purée. A welcome refresh given the increasing competition on Stockholm’s rooftop bar scene.

At 86 metres high, spread across the 25th and 26th floors, the view beats almost all others on this list. The whole of Stockholm stretches out beneath you in every direction – the kind of panorama that makes your stomach flutter.

The drinks are solid and the food leans heavily into classic Swedish cuisine, with traditional dishes for lunch and refined Swedish evening fare. An extra plus goes to Himlen’s generous weekend opening hours.

Time Out tip: Himlen is an unexpectedly great date spot. The breathtaking view does the work for you.

Götgatan 78, Södermalm. Monday 11.30–23, Tuesday–Thursday 11.30–00, Friday 11.30–03, Saturday 12–03, Sunday closed. Expect to pay around 150–165 kronor for a cocktail.

4. 3Sixty Skybar

What is it? Possibly Stockholm’s most spectacular rooftop bar structure – a sky bar on the 25th floor at Liljeholmskajen with full 360-degree views of the city.

Why we love it? Even from the outside, 3Sixty is something special. The building high above Liljeholmskajen must be Stockholm’s most eye-catching rooftop bar exterior. It’s visible from afar and promises exactly what it looks like: glamour.

And it delivers indoors, too. As you step out of the lift, you’re met with a stylish 1920s-inspired interior, a bar centred around an artificial tree and a panoramic view (the keyword for this list) stretching across all of Stockholm and Årstaviken, with not a single wall blocking the sightline. Yes, it can be a bit of an effort to get out to Liljeholmskajen. But the reward is a full evening experience: solid small plates, well-made bourbon and tequila cocktails or a glass from the impressive wine list, and on Fridays and Saturdays DJs keep the vibe going until midnight.

Time Out tip: The south-facing terrace is the obvious spot on a sunny summer evening.

Sjövikskajen 48, Liljeholmskajen. Tuesday–Thursday 16–23, Friday–Saturday 16–00, Monday and Sunday closed. Expect to pay around 185 kronor per cocktail. Dinner reservations available, walk-in spots for drinks.

5. Spesso

What is it? Stureplansgruppen’s Italian rooftop bar and restaurant in the heart of the city – and one of Stockholm’s most popular after-work spots with a view.

Why we love it? Spesso is the kind of place you keep coming back to – after work, for a long business lunch, or when the clock strikes ‘weekend!’ on a Friday. Its prime city-centre location and the well-earned praise for its rooftop views make it the obvious choice when the terrace opens in spring. Spesso is Stockholm in summer at its best.

The kitchen sticks to an Italian theme with handmade pasta and shareable small plates – but surprisingly, it’s the tequila drinks (dibs on Mango!) that stand out among the signature cocktails at the bar. Not quite what you’d expect from an Italian, but very welcome.

Time Out tip: The perfect spot for an after-work with company during the sunny, warm months. Book a table if you’re a larger group; otherwise, it’s walk-ins on the rooftop terrace.

Malmskillnadsgatan 38. Monday 11.30–00, Tuesday–Friday 11.30–01, Saturday 12–01, Sunday 12–00. Expect to pay around 195 kronor per cocktail.
