Best rooftop bars in Stockholm

1. Le Hibou

  • 5 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

What is it? Bank Hotel’s award-winning rooftop bar on Blasieholmen, with one of Stockholm’s most celebrated cocktail menus.

Why we love it? It’s almost enough to say that Le Hibou has won Best Cocktail Bar at the Bartenders' Choice Awards – one of the Nordics’ most prestigious accolades in the bar world – two years in a row (2025 and 2026). And when you sit at the top of Bank Hotel with a drink in hand, gazing out over Strandvägen and the waters of Nybroviken, you understand why.

Le Hibou is the rooftop bar for cocktail heads who like their drinks with class, set against an elegant backdrop that brings to mind a luxurious Parisian apartment. Without ever feeling pretentious. ‘Perspectives’ is the name of Le Hibou’s award-winning drinks menu, featuring fourteen cocktails where each chapter spotlights a single ingredient, interpreted in two different ways. Start the evening with the rich tequila-based Time Out favourite Juicy Grapefruit and end it with Boozy Fig, a spirit-forward, fig-infused twist on the classic Manhattan.

Time Out tip: As at any top cocktail bar, don’t be afraid to let the staff guide you. They know their drinks and flavours.

Arsenalsgatan 6, Blasieholmen. Sunday–Tuesday: 16–23, Wednesday–Friday 16–01, Saturday 14–01. Expect to pay around 195 kronor for a cocktail. Walk-ins only.

2. Celeste

What is it? Michelin-starred rooftop bar with views over the rooftops of Mariatorget, from the team behind Etoile in Vasastan, which has also been awarded a star in the prestigious guide.

Why we love it? Great views are something most rooftop bars have in common, but at Celeste, the food reaches equally impressive heights. Cocktails, small plates and snacks are served like miniature works of art, with playful and unexpected flavour combinations. Try the savoury blueberry meringue with cheese parfait, lavender and cherry, the golden-orange carrot bagel that has become a signature snack, or the deep-fried potato cake with mushroom cream – sublime.

The mocktails are every bit as impressive. Don’t miss the sweet-and-tart sea buckthorn drink with mandarin, yellow chilli, meringue and Espelette pepper. An added bonus is that, despite its sky-high standards and ambitions, Celeste welcomes both dogs and children – something that says a lot about the venue’s inviting approach.

Time Out-tips If you want to continue, or round off, the evening with more beautiful views, Monteliusvägen is just a ten-minute walk away. It doesn’t get much more Stockholm than that.

Torkel Knutssonsgatan 24, Södermalm. Opening hours Monday-Saturday from 12.00 throughout the summer. The eight-course menu with drinks costs around SEK 4,000, but if you’re just stopping by for a cocktail and a small plate, expect to spend around SEK 450 per person.

3. Charles

What is it? A hotel rooftop bar on the eighth floor of one of Stockholm’s most glamorous addresses.

Why we love it? Charles, the rooftop bar at Radisson Collection Strand Hotel in Stockholm, opened in spring 2025 and quickly became a favourite with both tourists and locals. Guests pack into the compact bar while spectacular views of Stockholm unfold in every direction. To the north, you’ll spot Strandvägen’s Art Nouveau palaces, archipelago ferries and grand waterfront façades. To the east lies Djurgården, with Gröna Lund and the Nordic Museum rising above the greenery.

Deep lounge sofas line the metal railing, and there’s often a DJ behind the decks. At weekends, the crowd is a little more mixed, but on weekdays you’re likely to find yourself rubbing shoulders with Stockholm’s finance and property crowd. As for the menu, there are cocktails available, but most people opt for beer or wine, and you shouldn’t expect much to eat beyond almonds and olives. Then again, that’s hardly the point. It’s the views and atmosphere that draw people here.

Time Out-tips: Want to continue the rooftop bar theme? Head to Le Hibou, just a short walk away. Here, however, ordering a cocktail is practically mandatory.

Nybrokajen 9, Norrmalm. Opening hours Monday-Thursday, 16.00-late. Friday-Saturday, 14.00-late. Expect to pay SEK 98 for a beer, SEK 195 for a cocktail.

4. Himlen

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

What is it? Södermalm’s highest bar, 86 metres up in the iconic 1950s building Skrapan on Götgatan – and one of Stockholm’s oldest rooftop bars.

Why we love it? Himlen opened in 2007 and has long been a staple on Stockholm’s rooftop bar map. In autumn 2024, the sky bar was relaunched with new interiors, a warmer feel and a clear focus on classic Swedish food and bold cocktails – try the extensive Gin & Tonic selection or the writer’s favourite, a Gin Fizz with strawberry purée. A welcome refresh given the increasing competition on Stockholm’s rooftop bar scene.

At 86 metres high, spread across the 25th and 26th floors, the view beats almost all others on this list. The whole of Stockholm stretches out beneath you in every direction – the kind of panorama that makes your stomach flutter.

The drinks are solid and the food leans heavily into classic Swedish cuisine, with traditional dishes for lunch and refined Swedish evening fare. An extra plus goes to Himlen’s generous weekend opening hours.

Time Out tip: Himlen is an unexpectedly great date spot. The breathtaking view does the work for you.

Götgatan 78, Södermalm. Monday 11.30–23, Tuesday–Thursday 11.30–00, Friday 11.30–03, Saturday 12–03, Sunday closed. Expect to pay around 150–165 kronor for a cocktail.

5. Takpark by Urban Deli

What is it? Possibly Stockholm’s most down-to-earth rooftop bar – a green urban park on the ninth floor right on Sveavägen.

Why we love it? Takpark was ahead of the curve. Back in 2015, Urban Deli opened its rooftop space and set the standard for what a Stockholm rooftop bar could be – not a stiff hotel terrace but something that actually felt like a city park, high above the pavements of Sveavägen. With wooden walkways, greenery and 360-degree views of the city, Takpark quickly became a modern rooftop classic in Stockholm.

And guess what? 11 years later, it still holds up – though not primarily for its drinks craft; for instance, there’s only canned beer, not draft. Takpark’s main USP is still the vibe. That relaxed feeling of hanging out on a rooftop in the middle of the city, drink in hand and all of Stockholm beneath your feet. Beer, wine and simple cocktails are served at the outdoor bar, and the glasshouse offers shelter if you’ve been careless with the sunscreen. Evenings are often soundtracked by DJs or live music. But more often than not, the view is more than enough. And the atmosphere.

Time Out tip: Get there early. On a sunny weekend day, Takpark fills up fast.

Sveavägen 44. Monday–Wednesday: 16–20, Thursday–Saturday: 14–20, Sunday: closed. Expect to pay around 165 kronor for a drink and 85 kronor for a (canned) beer. Walk-ins only.
