The autumn markets and harvest festivals are in full swing, with rows upon rows of cheeses, root vegetables and crafts. But not every flea market is about jam jars.

On Saturday, October 10, the non-profit organisation J-fashion Sverige is taking over a space at ABF-huset for Lolitaloppis 2026, a flea market dedicated entirely to lolita fashion. The style was born in Japan in the late 1980s and draws its look from Rococo and 19th-century Europe: wide skirts over petticoats, blouses, knee-high socks and hair ribbons. Covered-up, dramatic and quite a long way from what people tend to guess when they hear the name.

The tables will be covered with second-hand dresses, elaborate headwear and handmade jewellery, spanning lolita, ouji, the masculine variation, and aristocrat, the longer and more grown-up style. New lolita fashion is expensive and is usually ordered from Japan, so for many, second-hand is the only realistic way into the style.

You don’t have to dress in the style to go. Curiosity is enough.

ABF-huset, Sveavägen 41, Saturday, October 10, 09:00–15:00. Free entry, ground floor, wheelchair and pushchair accessible.
