Here’s what Lidingö’s new Acqua di Foresta spa looks like in pictures

Two years ago: dark basement spaces. Today: one of Stockholm’s most beautiful spas. There are several relaxation areas, Gotland limestone, Gregorian chants and a steam sauna with Swarovski crystals. The marbled and hand-painted walls are also adorned with works from owner Torbjörn Blomqvist’s private collection, by contemporary artists including Maria Friberg, Denise Grünstein and Esko Männikkö.

‘The name Acqua di Foresta captures the feeling we want to create, an experience where water, nature and tranquillity take centre stage. We’re convinced that Wilhelmina Skogh, who once had Villa Foresta built, would have appreciated the way we’re preserving the history of the place while developing it for the future,’ says Torbjörn Blomqvist, owner of Villa Foresta.

There are several different spaces and rooms to explore, as well as bespoke treatments and body rituals, from warming clay and Gua Sha to aromatherapy and massage with hot Himalayan stones. Other highlights include the spa’s unique signature treatment, where you’re pampered with a gentle massage using silk gloves. And not least, incredible views over the water and Frihamnen.

The new spa offers a number of different spaces and experiences:

• Prosecco pools – outdoor pools with views over the sea
• Tornkällan – a secluded pool inside Villa Foresta’s tower
• Hot springs – heated outdoor pools
• Four different sauna experiences – spa sauna, steam sauna, infrared sauna and classic dry sauna
• The Rain Trail – a water experience alternating between warmth and coolness
• The Salt Cave – a room for halotherapy
• The Garden – a passage through nature and water
• The Ice Fountain – crushed ice for cooling down
• Sensory relaxation room – for deep relaxation
• Peaceful relaxation areas with heated loungers
• Treatment rooms for body and facial treatments

The spa is part of a wider revamp of Villa Foresta. The entire hotel received a major makeover in 2024 and now has 103 rooms and suites, as well as several restaurants and bars. The age limit is 16 and day passes will be available to book from SEK 495.
