Villa Pauli was built in 1907 for artist Georg Pauli, whose murals still adorn the walls. Since the mid-1980s, the waterfront villa in Djursholm has been a private members’ club with a restaurant, hotel and event spaces.

The biggest addition is St. Nobl, the club’s new waterfront restaurant. It can accommodate around 100 guests across the winter garden, bar, terraces and poolside area. The menu combines international flavours with Mediterranean influences and seasonal Scandinavian ingredients.

The interiors were designed by SPIK Studios, led by Nina Glendinning, and there’s no Scandinavian minimalism here. Instead, expect velvet, marble, mirrored glass and hand-blown Murano chandeliers.

Beneath the renovated tennis court lies Villa Pauli Wellness Club, with a gym, saunas, steam rooms, cold baths and treatment rooms. Three private hotel suites are also due to open this autumn.

So, what does it cost? Membership ranges from around 27,500 to 55,000 kronor a year, depending on whether it’s for an individual or an entire family. Membership of the Wellness Club costs 30,000 kronor a year. Suddenly, that gym membership on Söder feels like a bargain.

Villa Pauli is located at Strandvägen 19 in Djursholm. Membership costs around 27,500–55,000 kronor per year and can be applied for via afamily.club.
