Stockholm’s hottest new restaurant opens on October 22, and bookings are already live. Emberlin is the new venture from star chef Björn Frantzén, located at Stureplan

Apparently, three Michelin-starred restaurants in Stockholm, Singapore and Dubai aren’t enough for Björn Frantzén. Now he’s turning his attention to the grill. Emberlin is moving into Stureplan 8, in a space that has never previously housed a restaurant.
Most of the cooking here will take place over an open fire. The à la carte menu ranges from crudo to grilled meat, fish, seafood, poultry and vegetables.
“Opening a grill restaurant has long been a dream of mine. This is the kind of restaurant I’d love to go to myself, and something I’ve felt the city was missing”, says Björn Frantzén in a press release.
At the grills will be Christian Ekman, who has been running the kitchen at Brasserie Astoria since it opened. Restaurant manager Lukas Jaktlund is returning from Dubai, where he opened Brasserie Frantzén.
FOJAB has designed the dining room, which seats 58 guests. Chrome and black leather give it a distinct nod to the 1980s.
And if you don’t fancy heading home after dinner, you don’t have to. The bar is just inside the entrance and stays open until 02:00 from Wednesday to Saturday, with DJs at the decks and vinyl on Wednesdays. Lunch will be added later this autumn.
Frantzén, who always seems to be in the spotlight, will be even more so this autumn, if that’s possible. On October 20, two days before Emberlin opens, the TV4 show 100 Knivar premieres, with the star chef serving as both host and judge.
Emberlin, Stureplan 8. Opens on October 22. Dinner served daily, with opening hours until 02:00 from Wednesday to Saturday. Book a table at emberlinstockholm.se.
