NK’s dining room has long been synonymous with lunch. But from November 4, the department store is opening its doors for dinner, too.

Bobergs matsal opened at NK in 1915 and was the last building designed by architect Ferdinand Boberg before he retired. Since then, the dining room has mostly been known for long business lunches. Restaurateurs Tommy Myllymäki and Pi Le are about to change that. The duo took over from Björn Frantzén in 2024, and last year they cooked the food for the Nobel Banquet.
“Relatively few people have actually experienced it in the evening, and we want to change that”, says Tommy Myllymäki.
From November 4, dinner will be served from Wednesday to Saturday, either à la carte or as a tasting menu. The kitchen serves French-Nordic cuisine. The dining room will be scaled back to 40 seats across 11 tables, the wine list will be expanded and the bar, which opened last autumn, will be open all day. So you can just as easily pop in for a martini as settle in for a long dinner.
After 19:00, evening guests will have their own entrance from Hamngatan. Lunch will continue as usual.
Bobergs is on the fourth floor of NK, Hamngatan 18–20, in Norrmalm. Dinner is served Wednesday to Saturday from November 4, and lunch Tuesday to Saturday.
