Here’s one for nostalgia-hungry clubbers: venerable Ebisu venue Liquidroom is marking its 22nd birthday with a trademark long set by the even more venerable François Kevorkian, aged 72 and still evidently going strong.

The New York luminary and Dance Music Hall of Famer is of course a familiar sight in Tokyo, having made countless appearances in the capital over the decades, most reliably at the annual Body and Soul bash alongside Danny Krivit and Joaquin ‘Joe’ Claussell.

But all good things must come to an end, and the ‘Deep Space’ man has apparently indicated that this could be one of his last dances on these shores – although the show on October 23 is being billed more restrictively as François K’s final set at Liquidroom.

Helping the ageless master say goodbye to a venue that’s certainly served him well over the years will be none other than Tokyo’s own DJ Nori, himself a 40-year scene veteran who once held a residency at New York’s Paradise Garage and played alongside the likes of Larry Levan.

If you’re up for one more hours-long, eclectic mix of everything from dub to minimal techno from a true living legend, you’d best score those tickets now. What do you mean it starts at midnight? If François K and Nori can still go all night, so can you.
