Summer is just around the corner. To stay cool during the muggiest time of year, McDonald’s Japan is launching a duo of fruity frappes on June 24. The seasonal concoctions are made from Hokkaido-grown cantaloupe melons, which are well known across Japan.

The Hokkaido Melon & Milk Frappe (from ¥470), first released in 2018, celebrates its comeback this summer. It's a flavourful mixture of milk and a melon sauce made from the orange flesh of the cantaloupe. The refreshing drink is topped with plenty of whipped cream and even more melon sauce.

Chocolate lovers will probably prefer its new counterpart, the Hokkaido Melon & Choco Frappe (from ¥490). The base is pretty much the same, except this version is graced with a Belgian couverture chocolate sauce and pieces of Oreo cookies on top of the whipped cream.

The dessert-like drinks will be available at 112 McCafé by Barista stores across Japan from June 24 until late August.

That's not all; McDonald’s Japan is also offering three new international burger creations. From June 24, the fast food chain will start a new campaign with a mouthful of a name. The ‘Gathering of Beef Burgers from McDonald’s Around the World’ features popular burgers from Japan, Canada and the United Kingdom. The Japanese Kalbi Mac (¥420) boasts thinly sliced kalbi beef; the Canadian Mighty Beef Original (¥490) features chopped bacon bits; and the Smokey Barbecue Burger (¥490) from the UK comes with smoked bacon and a barbecue sauce.
