Who would have thought that Ziploc, the trusty plastic pouches in which we carry our homemade lunch sandwich, can be so fashionable? Popular Japanese label BEAMS has just collaborated with Ziploc to release a capsule collection of accessories and wearables that are – dare we say it – actually super cool.

This could just be one of the best examples where fashion meets functionality. In fact, these items are very timely, as they play into fashion’s current obsession with everything PVC and transparent. In case you’re wondering, the Ziploc pouches within the products (well, the apron at least) are actually usable on their own, as demonstrated in the official video below.

On the wearable side, there’s a cap, visor and even an apron. But we’ve set our eyes on the tote, fanny pack and backpack. All of them see-through, with the Ziploc logo and trademark blue enclosure feature prominently. (On second thought, maybe we’ll attempt to DIY this with the regular Ziploc bags – we’ll let you know how it goes.)

This collaboration is now on sale at BEAMS Japan in Shinjuku until Sep 11. You can also get them online starting Monday August 20.
