Time Out Tokyo has published the official guide for the Shibuya Street Ride open-top bus tour, run by Tokyu Bus and operated by Tokyu Transses. It’s available in both Japanese and English.
The Shibuya Street Ride is a one-hour bus tour that departs from Shibuya Fukuras and takes in Shibuya Station, Harajuku, Sendagaya and Omotesando, plus other popular areas within the Shibuya district. The tour comes with an audio guide to explain the nine highlighted spots, thus enabling you to delve deeper into the charms of Shibuya.
The booklet, themed ‘The Ultimate Shibuya Experience’, is a companion piece to the bus tour’s audio guide. Not only does it give you an in-depth explanation and history of some of the city’s most popular attractions, it also includes a walking guide with recommended shops, cafés and restaurants, which you can visit at your leisure after the bus tour.
You can keep the booklet as a souvenir, as it’s more than just a guide to Shibuya. You can read up on films and anime that were set in or inspired by Shibuya, dive into an interview with Japanese Gen-Z fashion and music icon Manon about her perspective on Shibuya’s evolving culture, and even try mixing an exclusive Shibuya-themed cocktail created by one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, The SG Club.
The Shibuya Street Ride booklet has a limited print run. It’s available to those who have purchased tickets for the Shibuya Street Ride bus tour from TKTS (Shibuya-san, Shibuya Station and Tokyu Kabukicho Tower locations only) from the end of July 2023.
