For our April Community Meal, The Centre for Mindfulness Studies is cooking food from the Philippines to share a unique opportunity to experience eating mindfully. We’re going to slow down and give food the attention it deserves.

Mindfulness is a non-judgmental way of paying attention. Through practices like meditation, we train our brain to become aware of what’s happening in the present moment. Mindful eating is an informal practice that entails noticing what the body says about hunger and satisfaction.

When we eat with mindfulness, we develop a different relationship with food beyond texture, temperature, and taste. Instead of focusing just on what we’re eating, we’ll focus on why we’re eating, when we’re eating, where it came from, and how we’re eating.

We hope you can join us for this fun, mindful, Community Meal!

- Pansit (stir fried noodle dish with veggies, contains fish sauce)
- Fresh Lumpia (vegetarian spring rolls)
- Beans with bagoong (shrimp paste)
- Bibingka (rice cake dessert - gluten free)
- Sago't Gulaman (syrupy drink with grass jelly)

The Centre for Mindfulness Studies is a mental health charity. We’re the leading professional development and service delivery organization for mindfulness-based interventions in Canada.

Food is first-come, first-served, so make sure to arrive on time to avoid disappointment!

The Community Meals are generously supported by Curated Properties and The Metcalf Foundation.

Join us once a month at The Theatre Centre for a mouthwatering community meal! Our community meals give us a chance to share our passion for food experimentation and cooking with you. Like our Facebook page to be the first to hear what's on the menu!
