Are Gm Foods Better For Consumers?

The Big Carrot Natural Food Market says
Twenty years ago, the Canadian government approved the first genetically modified (GM) foods. They were allowed onto our grocery store shelves without labels. Why aren’t GM foods labeled? Are we eating GM foods with health benefits? Are GM foods safe to eat?
GM foods in Canada were approved without any government testing and without any long-term animal feeding studies. Independent studies on health questions are rare but some testing shows that genetic modification could impact our health.

Genetically modified foods have not been proven safe but are they unsafe?
