Auditions: 2015/16 Killer Diller Bees says
THE KILLER DILLER BEES are the Bees' Knees Dance performance and competition troupe. This group will work on original numbers to be performed at community events, as well as learning routines danced by the troupe That Swing! Members of the Killer Diller Bees may have the opportunity to perform with That Swing! in a professional context. Emphasis will be placed both on choreographed group routines and skills for jam circles, Jack and Jill competitions, and strictly competitions. Troupe members will have the opportunity to work on aerials.

The audition is open to anyone. There will be several sections, including sections that test your social dancing as well as your ability to learn and perform choreography. Bees’ Knees Dance instructors will both dance in rotation and observe the auditions. The judging system used in preliminary and semi-final rounds of International competitions will be used to choose troupe members, with only the final troup list being shared publicly. All audition participants will receive feedback from the judges via email.

This class requires an audition. You should audition for this class if you fit the description of Lindy Hop 3, but also have a strong interest in performance and competition.

This class requires a minimum commitment from September to the end of March (with a break for the second half of December), with an option to continue until the end of June. You will be paired with a particular partner for most numbers, and should be interested in/prepared to practice outside of class time. Joining the troupe requires a commitment to attend O’town Showdown in Ottawa (March 11-13 2016), with all associated costs to be covered by troupe members. Troupe members should commit to attending all practices on time barring exceptional circumstances.

If cast in the troupe, your classes will consist of 1 hour formal instruction followed by 1 hour of guided practice time. Both hours are included in the class fees of $15/class.
