Bevvy Swift [Mtl/Van] & Owabowa [Van] says
We are still buzzing from the Michael Red party and decided we needed to bring more west coast vibes to The Steady. We've lined up two special guests for another night of hybrid bass music. Vancouver underground party and festival veteran Bevvy Swift will be bringing his hip-hop infused bass sound and firecracker up-and-comer owabowa will be taking us on a journey of global underground club music. Fritz The Cat and Mark PM will get things bumping from the jump.

Bevvy Swift - MTL/Van [Glitchy & Scratchy/Muti Music]
hip-hop and electronic have long been on a re-collision course (since they went their separate ways after the late 80's hip-house craze), and Bevvy Swift has been charting that shit the whole way. whether he's making "glitch hop", "wonky", "purple", "future", or (insert other disposable buzzword here)..., Bevvy has always made music that reflects both the dance-ability of new electronic music, and the soul of hip-hop.

as a dj, he has no genre affiliations. obscure sounds like skweee and future garage are as likely to turn up in his sets as hip hop, dubstep or uk funky. always an emphasis on feelings.

owabowa - Van [MANIA]

owabowa comes at DJ'ing from a solid foundation in hip hop music, dance, and culture. Her passion for spinning was nurtured and raised up in Vancouver's street dance scene. She is a b-girl who also trains in house and hip hop styles of dance. owabowa is the resident DJ for MANIA MAG, an art & culture event platform that she co-runs with Cydeva of Pattern Nation.

owabowa loves bringing all different kinds of people together. Her sets combine music from all parts of the globe, drawing links and lines between cultures and rhythms. She spins hip hop, R&B, house, grime, afrobeats, global club music, feminist & queer rap. owabowa fuses familiar with unfamiliar, popular with underground, dark with tender. She aims to shine a light on the global underground as well as local music. owabowa wants people to get in their bodies and connect with each other on the dance floor and beyond.
