Cerebral Arts Presents: Colours And Sounds // @ The Smiling Buddha (Upstairs And Downstairs) says
As you may or may not know, a couple months ago we hosted an awesome show called For the Love of Madness. Thanks to all of our supporters, we were able to raise awareness for mental illness, all the while fundraising over $600 for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

This time, we are teaming up with Arts For Children and Youth (AFCY) to really bring light to the relationship between Toronto’s arts culture and its communities. We want to emphasize the importance of the creative spirit as the drive behind Toronto’s music and arts scene. Of course, 50% of the proceeds from the night will go towards AFCY in support of their efforts to provide children and youth in under-resourced communities and schools with opportunities to engage in meaningful hands-on art education.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the beauty of learning an art, but we recognize that sometimes, the necessary resources are simply unavailable. If we want to cultivate a healthy arts community, we need to provide our city’s youth with a voice, and the arts are an exceptional medium.

The night will feature 10 brilliant musical artists from the Toronto area, and 5 visual artists who will be displaying their wonderful work. To make this night even more special, we have organized an exciting lineup of acts to perform on both floors of the Smiling Buddha. Sets will alternate between floors to allow for a constant stream of music while the next acts set up. The night’s music will cover a wide variety of genres and as usual, every artist will impress you in ways you didn’t know were possible. Surely, we’ll have something for everyone.

We hope to see you on August 12th as we celebrate Toronto’s Colors and Sounds. Please visit the AFCY website for more information on the types of programs they offer:
