In this contemporary dance workshop, Throwdown Collective members share their collaborative working methods. Participants will explore dynamic physical tasks in small groups using principles of fall and suspension, weight sharing, and arrested and accelerated motion; building unique movement scores with a spirit of democracy, playfulness and hard work.

Toronto based Throwdown Collective is a collaborative contemporary dance company supporting the creative pursuits of Zhenya Cerneacov, Mairéad Filgate and Brodie Stevenson. The collective has created and toured three site-specific works for Dusk Dances, and was the recipient of the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Choreography (Various Concert, 2016).
